As I keep telling my friend in the UK: 2016 is not over yet....

Also, the number of people dying that are familiar to many people alive today is due to the advanced age of people that due to our popular culture seemed stuck in time. We’re just seeing the first generation of nearly universally-known TV, film, and music stars hitting an age where they die, which in the past wouldn’t have been news beyond a relatively small group of people.

I was going to have a party at a friend’s house, but his aunt died and those plans are now canceled. If 2017 serves up the same shit sandwich as 2016 did, I might have to cut a motherfucker.

My MIL died in August after a very long illness and being hospitalized for three months. This year needs to end its rein of terror right the hell now.

Holy hell man, I’m beyond sorry to hear. I got engaged to my fiancée (and she got a huge new job / career and my career has really taken off), we had our first nephew, my uncles fight with cancer is looking up amazingly from agonizingly bleak before now that he got into this experimental trial... it’s actually been a fantastic year for our family in many ways so I’m just sorry to hear it’s been so hard on so many others.

I’m glad that 2016 has been a good year for you! It hasn’t been a HORRIBLE year for us, but my wife’s mother’s passing just turns everything to shit on our end. Thanks for your condolences, but now let’s focus on 2017 being a good damned year!
